COPENHAGEN, Denmark/SZCZECIN, Poland: 3Shape, Danish developer of 3-D scanners and CAD/CAM software solutions, has built an entirely new production facility in Szczecin, Poland. Owing to the company’s rapid growth and swelling customer base, 3Shape has taken this step in order to “establish new dimensions for streamlined, efficient, and environmentally friendly manufacturing of 3-D scanners for the dental industry and for other applications”.

According to the company, the facility covers over 3,500 square metres over two levels and features special floor areas, advanced tools and teams of highly skilled technicians dedicated to extensive product testing and quality control to ensure the utmost accuracy in performance of every unit before packing and shipping.

“We built our manufacturing centre not only for today, but also for the future,” explained Flemming Thorup, 3Shape CEO. “Our new production facility is additionally designed to meet the stringent regulations that apply to the production of medical devices.”

3Shape’s production site in Poland has recently implemented the company’s health, safety and environmental policy, which fulfils the overall aim of promoting a healthy and safe working environment, while also minimising resource consumption and environmental impact.

“The primary benefit of going green is obviously the positive impact it will have on the environment and the community,” said Michael Toxværd Petersen, Supply Chain Vice-President at 3Shape. “A second benefit is satisfying the many customers who consider environmental responsibility a selection criterion when choosing their supplier.”
