COLTENE appoints new CEO

ALTSTÄTTEN, Switzerland: COLTENE, developer and manufacturer of dental consumables and small equipment, has appointed Martin Schaufelberger new CEO. He will assume global leadership of the group in early summer 2012. Erwin Locher, who is currently leading the company on an ad interim basis, will continue to accompany the realignment of COLTENE as delegate of the board.

Schaufelberger (1964) has a long and successful history of managing leading medium-sized companies operating worldwide, COLTENE stated in a press release. He joined thermoplastic resin manufacturer Kunststoff Schwanden AG in 1998 as Head of Marketing and Sales, and became CEO of the company in 2007. Under his leadership, the business acquired numerous new customers. Furthermore, turnover tripled during his period as CEO, COLTENE stated.

Schaufelberger was responsible for the Japanese subsidiary of Zellweger Uster AG, global leader in textile testing and quality control, in the mid-90s before managing the sales and strategic marketing of its Yarn Clearing business unit until 1998.

According to Nick Huber, President of the Board of COLTENE Holding AG, Schaufelberger’s structured and focused management style will enable him to implement enduring improvements to the operative processes, technological basis and market position of the company. He believes that Schaufelberger’s strong leadership qualities and team focus are ideal for him to further the development of the COLTENE Group and its worldwide business network.
