Feb 1, 2010 | EUROPECore CPD updateBRADFORD, UK: The next full day DentEd course―Radiography and Radiation Protection / Law & Ethics―is being held at Bodington Hall, University of Leeds on 22 April 2010 and will provide 6.5 of core Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for dentists and five hours for Dental Care Professionals. All those who are interested are being encouraged to register early. DentEd’s primary focus is to ensure all dental professionals complete the verifiable core CPD hours as stipulated by the General Dental Council. Further, DentEd’s remit is much broader than traditional independent dental CPD providers, as they are working in association with Dentaid, the global oral health charity. DentEd is committed in supporting the effort to raise awareness of dental care in places around the world where there is currently significant under provision. Therefore, DentEd can be regarded a quasi-social enterprise run by dentists with plans to further immerse itself into the work undertaken by Dentaid. “DentEd has been keen to form a relationship with Dentaid and identify itself with our aim of improving oral health for disadvantaged communities round the world. As they continue to develop their dental CPD courses, we will be working together to make their own aim of ‘reaching out through education’ have meaningful outcomes,” Andy Jong, CEO, Dentaid says. Going forward, DentEd plans to support the Bright Bites initiative, a project run by Dentaid to raise awareness of oral health amongst school children in the UK.
