SINGAPORE: Inviting the orthodontic community to Singapore to the fifth edition of the Association of Orthodontists (Singapore) Congress (AOSC) from 24 to 26 February, the organisers have announced that this year’s event will be the largest to date. In addition to a greater variety of industry exhibitors, which have increased by 15 per cent compared with the previous edition, the three-day conference has seen significant growth in the number of registrations, especially from Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines.

AOSC 2017 is organised by the Association of Orthodontists (Singapore) and will be held at the Marina Bay Sands hotel. “As an association, one of our aims is to help orthodontists from Singapore as well as the Asia-Pacific gain access to the latest skills and research in their specialty field,” explained AOSC President Dr Geraldine Lee Ping. “We are positive we will not disappoint our fellow colleagues with a stellar speaker and lecture line-up for this edition’s AOSC.”

The 2017 edition of the biennial event is being held under the theme “Achieving success: Overcoming challenges in orthodontics”. By covering as many aspects of the field as possible, the scientific programme seeks to help orthodontists improve their daily practice, said Dr Mohanarajah s/o S. Senathirajah, chairperson of the AOSC organising committee. Among the opinion leaders to hold lectures during the conference and present pre- and post-congress day workshops are experts Dr Richard McLaughlin, Dr Greg Huang and Prof. Young Guk Park.

The industry exhibition to be held alongside the conference will display the most diverse range of products in the history of the event. According to the organisers, 30 major manufacturers and distributors, representing 77 brands, will be showcasing their latest innovations in the fields of CAD/CAM, radiographic imaging, dental monitoring and more. “We’re grateful for the terrific response to this edition of AOSC so far and cannot wait to welcome everyone to Singapore in February,” the chairperson emphasised.

Online registration for both the conference and the exhibition closes on 13 February, but visitors will be able to register on-site too. More information is available at www.aoscongress.com.
