JOB DESCRIPTION

Product Development Engineer

Responsibilities:

Perform Mechanical Engineering duties by surrounding the following:

• Experience with Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GDT) requirements
• Material composition requirements
• General design dimensioning requirements for interface with other products, product function, ease of manufacture and aesthetics
• Surface finish requirements

Maintenance of associated Design Records, such as:

• Having the ability to perform the following functions as it relates to a Document Change Request System:
• Organizing, tracking, and processing of Document Change Requests.
• Distributing new release drawings for proper approvals and revising master drawing files.
• Have the ability to generate new drawing/part numbers for new products as it pertains to Document Drawing Files
• Correct execution of summarized activities is required, especially with respect to timely execution in compliance with company and regulatory policy.

Special assignments as directed by VP, Research and Development.

Qualifications:

• One year experience with computer network systems, MSWindows, standard MSWindows applications (Word, Excel, Access) and Solid Works CAD software package, 3-D modeling required.
• 1 - 3 years work experience in medical device field required (orthopedics preferred); product design responsibility preferred.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering preferred.
