Directa AB is a Swedish privately owned company founded in 1916. The company is one of the fastest growing manufacturers of dental products in the Nordic region, with the main focus on development and production of innovative products that facilitate the everyday work of dental practitioners and make life easier for their patients.

Directa is one of the many companies in the industrial group Lifco AB which has an annual turnover of 510 millions Euro, employs 2300 (2008) and is a subsidiary of privately owned Carl Bennet AB group. Directa’s head office and production plant are located in Upplands Väsby, Sweden.

Design by Dentists" exemplifies that Directa takes up product ideas from practicing dentists and academics, then develops the concepts in close collaboration with the idea originators and our team of technical specialists. Product development is carried out according to the needs and demands of dentists - as well as patients.

One of the most well-known Directa product is the extraction instrument Luxator®, which with its special ergonomic handle, excellent tactility and well-designed cutting shaft minimises tissue damage during tooth extraction. Luxator has become a classic dental instrument used in tens of thousands of dental clinics worldwide and is being adopted by a number of leading dental universities.

Another popular and globally renowned product developed by Directa is the unique protective FenderWedge®, which protects adjacent teeth during the preparation of teeth for Class II fillings. The introduction of FenderMate® - a combined sectional matrix and wedge compliments the use of FenderWedge in the completion of Class II composite restorations. It is unique and revolutionary, with no retention ring needed.

Two new, exciting Fender products were introduced at IDS 2011. FenderPrep™, the new protection for larger preparations such as crowns and veneers designed in cooperation with renowned Dr. Domenico Massironi and FenderPrime™ - a protection and matrix specially designed for preparation and restorations of primary teeth.
