Following the highly successful installment of the 2nd Edition of Phar/MedExpo in 2009, Middle East Gate Expo proudly announces the 3rd edition of Phar/MedExpo will to be held in Amman – Jordan (from 18th – 21st October, 2010) under the Patronage of the Ministry of Health and co-supported by Jordan Biomedical Engineering Directorate and Iraqi Doctor's Association and Iraqi Dental Association.
Though held in Jordan, interest regional neighbours including Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt as Phar/MedExpo 2010 incorporates every healthcare sector. Jordan's stability makes it the gateway to Iraq and Palestine, and features prominent representation from both nations.
Efforts are underway at restoring and upgrading Iraq's healthcare infrastructure. Phar/MedExpo 2010 features prominent Iraqi representation. Despite a $3.8 Billion expenditure, numerous shortages remain and six major hospitals are under construction throughout Iraq along with renovation for over 80 hospitals that prominently at Phar/MedExpo.
Palestinian healthcare officials and representatives will also feature prominently. Presently the Palestinian healthcare sector is undergoing major re-ogranisation to address difficulties. Cooperation and coordination of major world associations and NGOs have ensured its ability to function. Palestinian delegations will also feature prominently at Phar/MedExpo 2010, with emphasis on long-term development, with foreign funding.
The scope of participation is set to rise, thanks to decrees by HRM King Abdullah II. Under new guidelines, Iraqi and Palestinian officials and representatives from all sectors have unparalleled access to the Jordan, as some 700,000 Iraqis currently resident in Jordan.
Furthermore, Jordan is a regional leader in healthcare education, attracting students worldwide and a major manufacturer and exporter of pharmaceutical products with investments in the EU and Kazakhstan. Additionally, Jordan maintains and operates field hospitals in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and more recently Haiti and others.
Jordan ranks first in regional healthcare and fourth globally. In 2008 alone, 250,000 persons representing 48 nationalities visited some 30 public and 51 private hospitals. We therefore invite you to share in our success by becoming a part of Phar/MedExpo 2010.
