Star of the South Dental Meeting

2012 Star of the South Chairman’s Message:

The Star of the South Dental Meeting has changed in many ways over the last 40 years - size, date and venue, but two things have never changed. The Star continues to be the number one benefit for GHDS members, and the Star is dedicated to provide the best educational opportunities available. The 41st Star of the South Dental Meeting is no exception to this history. The 2012 Star of the South Dental Meeting, as its theme implies, will be a celebration of learning as the meeting focuses on the many facets of education. Attendees will find nationally known and local speakers providing lectures and workshops on technique, office administration, assistant and hygienist education and training, and technology including social media - just to name a few. The Exhibit Hall will be filled with vendors who will be able to provide the latest in products and equipment. Never fear, there will be opportunities for fun thrown into the learning. The successful Wii™ Challenge will be joined by a Photo Booth in the Exhibit Hall to create a lasting memory of the 2012 Star of the South. No matter how you learn or what you want to learn, the 2012 Star will be the place for you. Come early for the breakfast seminars and stay late to enjoy the Happy Hours in the Exhibit Hall. Book a room at the beautiful and convenient Hilton Americas and stay to enjoy the nightlife of downtown Houston.

The meeting will be held again at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston from March 29-31, 2012. As a special treat which continues the theme of education, the Star will spotlight the opening of the new University of Texas School of Dentistry by having the Friday night party at the new Denton A. Cooley and Ralph C. Cooley Faculty Life Center. Students will provide tours of the new building during the party. Buses will be provided for those people who prefer not to drive so you have no excuse to miss the party.

Russian Endodontic Congress 2012

Message from the President / the Executive Director:

Dear partners!

You are kindly invited to participate in a significant event for Russian dentistry — the Endodontic Congress, dedicated to the entry of Russia into European Society of Endodontology (ESE). The Endodontology Society of the Russian Dental Society was formed in the end of 1990 and with the appearance of new technologies, magnification devices and endodontic ultrasonics, the Society is currently getting a second wing and is full of intention to bring Endodontics to a new higher level.

The heads of departments and the deans of leading dental faculties in Moscow are members of the Board of the Endodontology Society of the Russian Dental Society and they have an intention to promote this event among students.

It has been decided to organize the Russian Endodontic Congress in a period from the 30-31 of March to the 1st of April 2012. A scientific programme of the Congress will include lectures, workshops, hands – on courses and Online broadcast to different areas of Russia. We are also planning to organize the Trade Exhibition demonstrating the latest advancements in Endodontics.

The doctors who have confirmed their participation are as follows: Ben Johnson (USA), David Clark (USA), Gilberto Debelian DMD, PhD (Norway), Carlos Alberto Spironelli Ramos (Brazil), Filippo Santarcangelo (Italy), Mikhail Solomonov (Israel), Joshua Moshonov (Israel), Bijan Vahedi (Germany), David Sonntag (Germany), Yuriy Malyk (Germany), Irina Makeeva (Russia), Aleksey Boljachin (Russia), Ivan Vjuchnov (Russia).

The Congress Organizing Committee, represented by the President of the Endodontology Society of the Russian Dental Society Makeeva Irina and the Executive Director of the Endodontology Society Sheina Natalia addresses to manufacturing companies to take part in the Congress with the assistance of international lecturers.

For its part, the Congress Organizing Committee guarantees much interest of Russian dentists to the declared event.
