DARMSTADT, Germany: Exocad, an Align Technology company and a leading provider of dental CAD/CAM software, has recently released DentalCAD 3.3 Chemnitz. This latest version delivers a substantially upgraded Implant Module and a new split denture design workflow and provides access to a new multi-unit design powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
“DentalCAD 3.3 Chemnitz marks a powerful leap forwards in digital dentistry,” said Tillmann Steinbrecher, CEO of exocad. “With this release, we’ve dedicated ourselves to what truly matters to our users: intelligent automation, seamless workflows and efficiency. From better abutment design to access to more AI services, every detail is crafted to empower dental professionals to do their best work—faster, easier and with greater joy.”
The release supports AI-assisted design for multiple units, enabling users to save time and reduce clicks when working on up to three adjacent posterior crowns or posterior bridges of up to three units. The reworked Implant Module now offers customisable automatic abutment proposals and markedly improved editing tools.
Additionally, the new split denture workflow allows users to design both a bar and its superstructure in one streamlined workflow. The software splits the design into two precisely fitting components, saving time and minimising manual adjustments for all-on-X hybrids.
DentalCAD now supports Ivoclar’s clinical process for digital dentures, which aims to reduce the number of patient appointments required. Additionally, the Model Creator module now supports Amann Girrbach’s Artex Print&Click system, enabling tool-free mounting of 3D-printed models in the Artex articulator without the need for plaster.
Further highlights of DentalCAD 3.3 Chemnitz include:
- symmetric tooth shape editing for aesthetic design;
- AI automation to speed up occlusal splint design;
- accelerated workflows for bridges and large tooth set-ups with Instant Anatomic Morphing, now featuring chain mode, which enables simultaneous, linked adjustment of multiple teeth to maintain natural morphology and occlusion;
- new typeahead search bar for faster feature discovery;
- inclusion of Inspira tooth libraries for enhanced aesthetic restoration design; and
- support for the KaVo PROTARevo articulator, bringing the total number of supported articulators to 20.
DentalCAD 3.3 Chemnitz is now available worldwide. Exocad’s AI-enabled services are accessible to DentalCAD 3.3Chemnitz users in both the EU and the US who have activated integration with the my.exocad cloud platform. However, using these AI services requires exocad credits. The release is part of the Align Digital Platform, Align Technology’s integrated suite of proprietary technologies and services that support laboratories, clinicians and patients within a connected digital workflow.
