Exocad reveals expanded programme highlights for Insights 2026

DARMSTADT, Germany: Exocad, an Align Technology company and a leading dental CAD/CAM software provider, today announced extended programme details for Insights 2026, taking place from 30 April to 1 May in Palma de Mallorca in Spain. Under the theme “Calling All Heroes”, the global event will bring together dental professionals from around the world for two days of knowledge exchange, product innovation, and high-value clinical and laboratory education.

The expanded 2026 programme will feature experts in digital dentistry from across the laboratory and clinical spectrum, including:

  • Dr Alexis Ioannidis, head of fixed reconstructive dentistry at the University of Zurich in Switzerland, who will explore how communication helps turn treatment plans into clinical results;
  • Caroline Kirkpatrick, clinical dental technician in Scotland, who will be challenging conventional workflows and encouraging crown and bridge technicians to rethink the possibilities of removable prostheses;
  • Dr Zhiqiang Luo, clinical instructor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in the US, who will address the transformative power of the digital patient in modern care pathways;
  • Seth Potter, digital designer in Canada and exocad trainer, who will demonstrate how modern smile design can boost both treatment acceptance and business growth;
  • Dr Michaela Sehnert, dentist in Germany featured in exocad’s “Heroes of Digital Dentistry” campaign, who will share strategies to strengthen patient communication and elevate aesthetic outcomes;
  • Dr Marco Tallarico, associate professor in dental prosthetics at the University of Sassari in Italy, who will present an interdisciplinary treatment workflow involving exocad ART and exoplan; and
  • Lukas Wichnalek, dental technician in Mexico, who will discuss standardising patient data acquisition for aesthetic treatment planning with TruSmile.

Key insights from exocad leadership

The programme will feature engaging presentations by exocad leaders. In “Exocad: What’s new, what’s next”, CEO Tillmann Steinbrecher and Senior Product Marketing Manager Nilou Sotouhi will offer insights into the newest developments at exocad. This will be followed by a panel discussion, “The inside track: Exocad’s take on digital dentistry”, with Chief Technology Officer Maik Gerth, Chief Commercial Officer Novica Savic and Steinbrecher.

Exclusive Align Technology sessions

The Insights programme will also feature exclusive sessions by the event’s diamond partner, Align Technology:

  • “The seven steps towards modern dentistry” by Dr Christian Coachman, dentist and dental technician in Brazil; and
  • “ART: Advanced restorative treatment—accelerating remarkable transformations together” by Andrea Piantoni, CEO of IDI Evolution in Italy; Massimiliano Rossi, head of strategy and marketing at IDI Evolution; Dr Federico Arosio, dentist in Italy; and Zelko Relic, executive vice-president and chief technology officer at Align Technology in the US.

Innovation expo, partner sessions and partner news

An innovation expo will feature manufacturers and distributors of dental materials, dental equipment and CAD/CAM products, showcasing their latest technologies. On the second day of Insights 2026, the event’s diamond, platinum and gold partners will also hold dedicated sessions to showcase their innovations and present cases, and many are planning product news and special updates specifically for Insights 2026.

Women in dentistry lunch

Insights 2026 will feature the inaugural Women in dentistry lunch, a networking and knowledge exchange session focused on professional development, leadership and visibility for women in dentistry. The programme will include a panel discussion moderated by Christine McClymont, global head of marketing and communications at exocad. The panel will be made up of dental laboratory technician Marjorie Andrade, President of exocad America Beth Collington and Dr Sehnert. Participation requires prior registration and can be done through the event website.

Spotlight country this year: China

For the first time, exocad is introducing the concept of a rotating spotlight country at Insights. This year, China will take centre stage with region-specific innovations, expert insights and dedicated sessions, celebrating one of the world’s most dynamic digital dentistry markets.

Tickets, evening event and special activities

All tickets include access to lectures, breakout sessions, the innovation expo, the exoGlam night celebration and a set of new morning activities designed to help participants energise, inspire and connect. Attendees can sign up for the chance to flow into the day with exocad application specialists doing tai chi or head out on a 5 km fun run.
