スイス・ルツェルン:5月3~5日、世界歯科連盟(FDI)は、ルツェルンで「高齢化人口のための口腔保健(OHAP)」に関する3日間の会議を開催した。この会議は、「一生涯の口腔保健:基本的権利」というテーマに焦点を絞ったものだった。世界保健機関(WHO) をはじめ、世界中から計20人の専門家が集まり、増大する口腔疾患の負担に対処し、高齢者の歯の喪失を予防するための戦略を協議した。

FDI: Rencontre d’experts en gérodontologie

LUCERNE, Suisse : Du 3 au 5 mai, la Fédération dentaire internationale (FDI) a organisé trois journées de conférences axées sur la santé bucco-dentaire pour la population vieillissante (Oral Health for an Ageing Population OHAP). Vingt spécialistes internationaux, dont des membres du World Health Organization (WHO), se sont notamment entretenus sur la thématique « la santé bucco-dentaire tout au long de sa vie : un droit fondamental de l´homme ». L´objectif de ces rencontres est de mettre en place des stratégies visant à améliorer la santé bucco-dentaire et à prévenir de la perte de dents chez les personnes âgées.

FDI President-Elect receives idm Global Oral Health Progress Award

WASHINGTON, USA: International Dental Manufacturers (idm), a group of global dental industry associations, has honored Dr. Kathryn Kell, President-Elect of the FDI World Dental Federation, with the first annual IDM Global Oral Health Progress Award. The award recognizes Kell’s contributions to advancing oral health and her leadership in the FDI’s Congress Working Group to secure the success of future FDI Annual World Dental Congresses (AWDC) in particular.

World Oral Health Day 2016: Healthy Mouth. Healthy Body.

Madrid to host 2017 FDI Annual World Dental Congress

MADRID, Spain: The Spanish Dental Association (Consejo General de Colegios Odontólogos y Estomatólogos de España – CGCOEE) will be hosting the 2017 FDI Annual World Dental Congress (AWDC) in Madrid. The congress will take place from 29 August to 1 September, 2017. Madrid was selected from a number of options, by the FDI Council, during its meeting in Marrakech on 20 April.

Jean-Luc Eiselé bids FDI farewell

GENEVA, Switzerland: After four years, Dr Jean-Luc Eiselé, Executive Director of the FDI World Dental Federation, will be leaving the organisation to pursue new duties and responsibilities at a Swiss local health organisation. He will be succeeded by Enzo Bondioni.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark: Researchers from the University of Copenhagen have examined the benefits of enhanced oral health promotion combined with a closely supervised toothbrushing programme in schools in southern Thailand. The two-year study aimed to establish an effective model for the fight against the increasing burden of tooth decay among children in Asia.
