The one abutment, one time protocol offers biological advantages, but it also has its drawbacks. In a free Dental Tribune Study Club webinar on Thursday, Feb. 13, Dr. David Norré will be sharing new insights into tissue conditioning around implants and how to avoid some of the disadvantages.
In the webinar, participants will be given an overview of an innovative new abutment that makes one abutment, one time implant and abutment placement for multiple- and single-tooth restorations possible without the known disadvantages of tissue-level implants. The abutment is intramucosal, narrow, modular and one piece, and designed with a low profile, which according to Norré, provides a tissue-level solution for various gingival heights.
Norré graduated in dentistry at KU Leuven in Belgium in 2001, after which he completed an advanced master’s program in restorative dentistry at the same university. He is the co-founder of Dentius, and his interest in implantology led him to the University of Liège, where he completed two years of training in oral implantology. Since 2007, he has been a teacher at KU Leuven and lectures on oral implantology and abutment design. In addition to his work as an implantologist and his teaching, Norré is undertaking research in the Department of Periodontology and Oral Microbiology at KU Leuven.
The 1-hour webinar, titled “New insights into tissue conditioning around implants,” will be broadcast live on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 1 p.m. EST. Attendance is free of charge after easy registration on the website. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic.
