SAN FRANCISCO, U.S.: “Be a part of something extraordinary” is the theme of the 2019 American Dental Association (ADA) FDI World Dental Congress, which started on Wednesday in San Francisco and will run until Sunday, Sept. 8. The 107th edition of the congress is being hosted in collaboration with the ADA at the Moscone Center to celebrate the ADA’s 160th anniversary and the 150th anniversary of the San Francisco Dental Society.
To celebrate these milestones, continuing education courses, exhibitors, entertainment and so much more promise to make up an extensive program stretching over all four days. One of the educational highlights is the New Dentist Conference, which is an interactive experience looking at the future of dentistry, designed by and for dental students and dentists who graduated from dental school less than ten years ago. Keynote speakers include Dr. Miguel Stanley, who will address the question “Are consumers and technology driving the future of dentistry?”, and Dr. Marko Vujicic, who will be presenting a lecture titled “The generational shift: 5 things dentists need to know about the changing dental patient”.
Besides opportunities to network with well-known opinion leaders in dentistry, the event offers the World Dental Congress exhibition. There, attendees can gather information on the newest products and learn about the latest innovations provided by the ever-evolving international dental industry that will be represented at the event. A combined general session will set the stage for this congress. The last time the ADA and FDI World Dental Federation hosted a joint dental meeting was in 1996 in Orlando, Florida.
