COLOGNE, Germany: After two decades, the FDI World Dental Congress (WDC) is returning to mainland China. The event will take place on 9–12 September at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. Organised by FDI World Dental Federation, the Chinese Stomatological Association and Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions, the event is expected to have one of the largest exhibitions in FDI’s history, gathering over 700 dental companies, 191 dental associations and more than 35,000 visitors—and spread over 60,000 m².
FDI WDC 2025 will offer a unique platform for sharing insights, innovations and best practices at a time when China’s dental market is experiencing unprecedented growth. Driven by improved living standards and increasing oral health awareness, this expanding market is seeing heightened demand for premium dental products and services. With more than 120,000 dental practices and surging interest from younger consumers, China represents significant opportunities for domestic and international companies alike. Additionally, supportive government policies—such as incentives in the Hainan Free Trade Port and simplified processes in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone—actively promote international collaboration and investment.
Complementing the country’s supportive policies, China’s dental industry is undergoing a significant technology-driven transformation, which will be in the spotlight at FDI WDC 2025. The event’s IntelliDent Stage will highlight groundbreaking innovations, such as 3D-printed implants and artificial intelligence-assisted diagnostics, aimed at improving treatment outcomes and patient accessibility.
The four-day congress will offer extensive educational sessions featuring over 300 speakers, alongside exclusive social events such as the gala dinner and Shanghai Night, ensuring an enriching experience.
