SEOUL, South Korea: On a yearly basis, Osstem Implant’s subsidiaries organise the Osstem Meetings, which are country-specific events, in their respective countries, including South Korea. The company has announced the conclusion of a successful round of these symposiums held by its overseas subsidiaries. For each symposium, local dentists were invited to share the latest technology and surgical expertise related to implant treatments and participate in the analysis and discussion of clinical cases.

From 14 to 16 April, Osstem’s Chinese subsidiary in Guangdong held its Osstem Meeting in Shenzhen, a city in southern Guangdong. The event attracted 660 local dentists. Kim Hee-Soo, head of the subsidiary, said: “Although this year’s symposium was  a paid-event for the first time, we received tons of inquiries in advance and witnessed enthusiastic response on the spot. The Guangdong subsidiary plans to hold its second local academic symposium in Nanning, China in October thanks to the ardent support of local dentists.

The company’s Brazilian subsidiary held its Osstem Meeting in São Paulo, the country’s financial centre, from 24 to 25 March. The meeting included an on-site lecture by a Brazilian dentist and a live broadcast of an implant surgery performed by a South Korean dentist in Seoul. Deputy Consul General of the Republic of Korea in São Paulo Kim Joo-Hoon delivered congratulatory remarks, wishing Osstem great future success and expressing his gratitude to the participating local dentists.

Lee Won-Ki, head of Osstem’s Brazilian subsidiary, said: “The subsidiary was established in the second half of 2019 and encountered a disruption in business activities for about three years owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. This disruption occurred even before it embarked on the licensing process for products to be sold in the local market.” He added, “This meeting, which we have hosted this year for the first time, is the first of numerous future academic events to be arranged for the 340,000 in-service dentists in Brazil.”
