PARIS, France: A seminar marking 140 years of diplomatic relations between France and South Korea has facilitated the sharing of South Korean expertise in digital implant dentistry with French dental practitioners. Organised by the South Korean embassy in France with support from Osstem Implant’s local subsidiary, the seminar was attended by 40 local dental professionals and aimed to strengthen clinical knowledge and professional ties between practitioners in the two countries.

Held in October, the seminar was presented by Prof. Chang-Joo Park, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Hanyang University Hospital in Seoul in South Korea. An expert in implantology and digital dentistry and a key opinion leader for Osstem, Prof. Park conducts research in implant material development and alveolar bone regeneration. During the seminar, he presented digital workflows and clinical protocols for implant treatment incorporating Osstem and Medit products.

His presentation of digital surgical guide design and videos of implant surgery cases attracted particular interest. Drawing on clinical examples, Prof. Park explained how digital technologies can be integrated into treatment, and he shared surgical techniques that practitioners could apply in their own practice. A question-and-answer session followed his presentation, prompting discussion and the exchange of clinical knowledge and experience. Participants also expressed interest in incorporating Osstem’s OneGuide guided implant surgery system into their clinical work.

Dr Julien Laupie, one of the two general secretaries of the French Dental Association, thanked the embassy for organising the seminar and expressed the hope that South Korea’s expertise in digital dentistry would contribute to the advancement of dental care in France. The organisers plan to build on the success of the event by strengthening their networks with dental professionals in France and creating further opportunities for cooperation, including professional exchanges and joint scientific events.
