TURIN, Italy: The fourth congress of the European Aligner Society (EAS) spans two and half days of plenary lectures led by some of the most experienced, forward-thinking practitioners in aligner orthodontics in the world today. The event will take place from 11 to 13 May in Turin in Italy and will offer clinicians from Europe and around the world a forum to improve their knowledge and clinical skills and to advance the science and art of aligner orthodontics. Aside from the expert lectures, the congress will host breakout sessions and workshops, which will allow attendees to explore and delve more deeply into the subjects which interest them the most.
In addition to the packed congress programme, there is much to explore in the beautiful city of Turin, sometimes referred to as the capital of baroque, many of its palaces and churches having been built in that style during the eighteenth century. The first capital city of modern Italy, it is nestled between rolling hills with views to the Italian Alps in the distance. Today, Turin is also an important centre of technology and industry and home to the Italian car maker FIAT.
This year’s congress will stand out as the most sustainable to be staged by EAS to date, having measures in place to reduce waste, including going paper-free, plus plans to offset carbon generated during the event. Additionally, EAS is in talks with a specialist recycling organisation to explore ways in which plastic aligners might be recycled in the future—something which is currently extremely challenging, as aligners are medical devices that must be sterilised before they can be recycled.
World-class speakers align in Turin
The scientific committee of EAS has been able to attract so many of the world’s leading experts in aligner orthodontics and digital dentistry that the plenary sessions span two days. The programme will highlight the most current trends in aligner treatment. Among other topics, the speakers will share their clinical experience and highlight the role of biomechanics, 3D printing and artificial intelligence.
The congress will close on the Saturday with the party by the river, where delegates can enjoy music and dancing, as well as sample Italian culinary delights.
Congress registration is now open. More information about the programme and speakers can be found at eas-aligners.com/4th-eas-congress.
EAS was set up to provide continuing information about developments in clear aligner therapy and create strong support for the formal training which takes place at postgraduate level across the EU.
As a members’ association, EAS aims to provide a number of services, including providing support to members, offering advice and guidance, and making resources available to support and develop education in clear aligner therapy. Together, members form an aligner community to learn from one another and grow in confidence as they hone their treatment skills.
