PARIS, France: Allisone Technologies, a dental artificial intelligence (AI) company, has announced the acquisition of Spotimplant, AI-based software for dental implant identification. The addition of this capability has strengthened Allisone’s position in digital dentistry, significantly expanding its solutions for oral healthcare professionals.

Allisone uses machine learning to help dental surgeons simplify and improve communication with patients. Thanks to its innovative technology, Allisone enables patients to better understand the findings of their dental radiographs by using colour to highlight elements in the mouth. This approach enables patients to visualise and thus better comprehend their dental condition on the one hand and helps dentists to build patient trust and boost treatment plan acceptance on the other. Furthermore, Allisone has been designed for easy integration with dental practice tools, having an open software interface.

Spotimplant is an AI-based service for dental implant recognition. It enables dental professionals to identify the model and brand of implants in their patients’ mouths in order to establish compatible components and the correct instruments to use for restoration. Spotimplant provides a valuable solution to a common problem encountered by many dentists: 81% report that they have had the challenge of having to identify an unknown implant, and 44% have ordered the wrong component when restoring an implant placed by another practitioner. This technology enables practitioners to be more efficient and competent in the care of their patients.

Obvious synergy between Allisone and Spotimplant

Together, Allisone and Spotimplant have the common goal of enabling practitioners to gain operational efficiency. “We are delighted to have acquired Spotimplant,” said Dr Lionel Elbaz, CEO of Allisone. “This acquisition has strengthened our position in dental AI and allows us to provide even more innovative solutions to our users.”

Last September, Allisone announced that it had raised €10 million in funding. Its acquisition of Spotimplant only six months later is a further step towards the company's goal of becoming the leader of AI in dentistry.
