ROME, Italy: AOFan continuing education was born in Italy in 2019, thanks to the experience of Drs Paolo Gallo, Alessandro Greco and Federico Migliori in the field of clear aligners. In the last four years, AOFan has organised more than 20 courses attended by more than 500 dental professionals, and last summer, the first alumni meeting brought 150 participants to Fano in Italy.

For the first time, AOFan will be hosting an international event, offering a brand-new course completely in English to their global friends and colleagues. Dr Martín Pedernera will be joining Drs Greco and Migliori in presenting the programme.

For all those who will not be able to come to Italy this summer, the course will be livestreamed as well.

The course will involve a day and a half of lectures on advanced aligner treatments, such as extraction cases, impacted canines, and the integration of direct and indirect temporary anchorage devices (TADs) with aligners. On the Saturday afternoon, there will be something unique: two hands-on workshops in which the participants will learn first how to precisely plan and perform guided TAD placement in the tuberosity and on the palate, and then how to create cantilevers to use with TADs for complex movements. On the Friday evening, all participants will be invited to the AOFan Italian dinner in a special place, to experience Rome as Romans do.

The location of the first international meeting could only be Rome, and an amazing venue was selected to welcome the participants in the heart of the city. The Sina Bernini Bristol in Rome will delight attendees, in the magic of a timeless atmosphere. For over 140 years, the hotel has been a benchmark for luxury hospitality in the eternal city. Located on Quirinal Hill, it sits on one of the most famous squares in the historic centre of Rome, the Piazza Barberini, named after the Palazzo Barberini, which houses works by Raphael and Caravaggio, among many others, in one of the city’s most important art galleries. From Piazza Barberini, one can start his discovery of the city, exploring the nearby Trevi district with its famous fountain, the adjacent Spanish Steps and then the Monti district for some shopping in the most famous streets of the capital.
