Dental News - Exocad’s first international congress sells out

DARMSTADT, Germany: For the next two days, Germany-based software company exocad is hosting its first international congress, exocad Insights. The event, being held from 19 to 20 November, involves globally recognised experts and specialists in digital workflows, who will be presenting solutions relating to exocad software, covering scanning, digital design and manufacturing. With 570 registered participants, the 2018 event has completely sold out.

Taking place at the Darmstadt congress centre, the congress has been designed to offer dentists and dental technicians a unique platform through which they can exchange knowledge with software experts, numerous manufacturers and specialists.

According to exocad, its software is the only solution that allows digital technologies such as CBCT, milling machines, 3-D printers, intra-oral scanners and model scanners to be connected on a single platform. Participants at the event will thus have the opportunity to discover the advantages of the open system and delve even deeper into the unsurpassed flexibility and design freedom it offers.

Among the speakers on the first day of exocad Insights is dental technician Uli Hauschild, who will be showcasing innovative solutions for virtual implant planning on the basis of complex cases, and Dr Jan Hajtó, who will be giving his insight into the new exocad ChairsideCAD software, which is optimised for the clinical environment and simplifies the exchange between practitioners and laboratories, according to the company. Additionally, dental technician Waldo Zarco Nosti, founder of the exocad Experts Facebook group, which now has more than 26,000 members, will be giving dental technicians an in-depth look at exocad DentalCAD and an overview of the upcoming Smile Design module.

On the second day, the focus will shift to the practical application of the software. In the morning session, exocad partners Amann Girrbach, Align Technology, Medit, Shining 3D, CIM System, Elos Medtech, imes-icore, Nobil-Metal and smart optics will provide participants with specific insights into their respective technologies in combination with exocad software applications during 30-minute presentations. The afternoon session involves exocad experts from around the world sharing further possibilities offered by solutions such as DentalCAD and ChairsideCAD in detail. Additionally, in a parallel event, dentists will be shown state-of-the-art treatment options for implant planning and “single-visit dentistry”.
