SEOUL, South Korea: Imagoworks, a South Korean company that develops digital dental solutions driven by artificial intelligence (AI), has recently announced that it has signed a distribution agreement for its Dentbird Solutions software with dental supplier Ci Medical for the Japanese dental market. This web-based CAD program, which is utilised in over 93 countries, automates dental prosthesis design using AI.
Ci Medical will also integrate Dentbird Solutions with its website to offer enhanced accessibility to Japanese dentists and dental experts. Founded in 2000, Ci Medical is a JASDAQ-listed company and is now one of the largest dental distributors in Japan. Imagoworks plans on utilising Ci Medical’s distribution network of over 70,000 dental clinics, hospitals and laboratories to vastly expand its footprint in the Japanese market.
Imagoworks believes that its CAD software and Ci Medical’s retail power will create new market segments and innovation synergies by pioneering Japan’s AI-powered digital dentistry market. It projects that local health and insurance policy changes, along with an ongoing drive for digital transformation within the Japanese dental market, will lead to an increase in demand for CAD/CAM-fabricated dental prostheses. Imagoworks is confident that Dentbird Solutions will enable higher productivity and efficiency, creating value for Japanese dentists, dental technicians and patients.
Imagoworks and Ci Medical also discussed plans to further their cooperation beyond the distribution agreement. This includes plans for Imagoworks to enter the Japanese dental prosthetics market upon Imagoworks’ development of a dental prosthesis design and ordering solution, Dentbird Connect.
“We are pleased to announce our entry into the Japanese dental market through our distribution agreement with Ci Medical. With our Japanese service as our foundation, we will open doors to communicating with various global companies to provide our solutions worldwide,” Imagoworks announced.
