ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia: The third International Dental Exhibition Africa (IDEA) will take place in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa. Chosen owing to it being one of the fastest-growing economies in Africa, Addis Ababa has emerged as a regional hub and is home to key international organisations. According to IDEA, this makes it the perfect location for dental companies interested in meeting African dental professionals and dealers.
Organised by the Italian Dental Industries Association (UNIDI), the trade show will take place from 14 to 16 December. IDEA co-organiser the Ethiopian Dental Professionals Association (EDPA) is arranging and promoting a comprehensive scientific programme with a panel of international speakers.
Under the direction of Dr Renato Gullà, member of the cultural committee of the Italian Society of Endodontics and active member of the EDPA, the scientific programme will host Dr Arnaldo Castellucci, with a lecture on root repair in endodontics, and Dr Roberto Fornara presenting a paper about the use of the CBCT in endodontics. On 14 December, IDEA is hosting an international summit for the dental, medical and pharmaceutical industries, supported by the Ethiopian Ministry of Industry and the other reference ministries.
According to UNIDI, the presence of international dental companies, the scientific programme and the workshops organised by the exhibitors will attract a large number of dental, medical and pharmaceutical professionals. Furthermore, dealers from several African countries will have the opportunity to make contact with international dental manufacturers on their own continent.
