STOCKHOLM, Sweden: With one of the most extensive offerings of products and supplies, Dontic aims to be the one-stop shop for everything orthodontic in Europe. A spin-off of Proclinic, one of Spain’s largest dental dealers, the company is currently exhibiting its portfolio at the European Orthodontic Society (EOS) congress in Stockholm, where Dental Tribune Online had the opportunity to speak briefly with company representative Nick Wignall.
According to Proclinic Online Business and Orthodontics Director, the company is not exactly a newcomer to the show, having exhibited already at past editions in Spain, Venice and Italy. “It is a good opportunity to make contact with our customers or obtain new ones,” he explained. “Also customers can finally put a face to the company and get hands-on with the products we offer. We were satisfied with the number of delegates who visited our booth on the first day.”
Dontic has grown its customer base significantly, according to Wignall, serving now over 8,500 dental professionals in 28 European countries, which is not bad for a company that only started about five years ago. The majority of its customers place regular orders on a monthly basis, he added, which allows the company to provide significant discounts on most of its products.
“Discounts we receive from the manufacturers we pass on directly to our customers so that they profit from better pricing,” he said. “We also purposely overstock to have everything available at all times.”
Owing to a smart logistics system, most customers who place an order through the website usually receive their order within 24 hours. In addition, Dontic provides free shipping for orders over €300, as well as on returns. Its portfolio now includes more than 750 own-brand products, as well as many original products, including those from prime manufacturers, such as 3M Unitek, Reliance Orthodontic Products, Hu-Friedy, G&H Wire and Raintree Essix. In total, the company now has 5,000 products in its offering. Plans to extend the range to general dental products through a sister company are already underway.
“We are also intending to increasingly sell our products outside the European Union,” Wignall said.
Dental professionals can obtain more information about the company from its website, www.dontic.com, or by visiting Stand A01:20 at the EOS conference.
