SYDNEY, Australia: Last week, the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) released the results of its quarterly Australian Dental Products Business Conditions Survey. The survey, which assesses sentiment on dental product sales volumes and selling prices, indicated that although product sales were up, sale prices had fallen.
The Australian Dental Products Business Conditions Survey is a national survey that aggregates data provided by ADIA member businesses. It covers businesses of all sizes operating in every state and territory and is Australia’s only specialised survey that targets the dental industry.
“Survey respondents that provided commentary as to current business conditions suggest that in a somewhat subdued market selling prices were relatively stable as businesses discounted (over and above end-of-year sales) to retain market share,” said ADIA CEO Troy Williams.
The ADIA survey assesses current business conditions and future expectations of dental product suppliers using a range of indicators, including dental product sales volumes, dental product selling prices, costs of manufacturing and importing products, administrative overhead costs, business wage costs and business workforce size.
The data was collected via an online survey over two weeks from 15 January 2018 that was completed by approximately one in four member businesses.
