Dr Christer Dahlin

Dr Christer Dahlin is the president of the Osteology Foundation and an adjunct professor in oral surgery and guided tissue regeneration in the Department of Biomaterials Science at the Institute for Clinical Sciences at Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. He is also a visiting professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor in Michigan in the US. Dr Dahlin has over 30 years of experience in implant treatment and related research and is considered one of the pioneers in the development of the concept of guided bone regeneration, which remains his main research focus. He is currently project leader for the BIOMEMBRANE research group within the multidisciplinary BIOMATCELL enterprise, a government-funded biomaterials initiative in Gothenburg. The group is studying and developing what could be the next generation of guided bone regeneration devices.
