Dr. Sascha A. Jovanovic

Dr. Sascha A. Jovanovic graduated from the dental school of the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands, and holds a MSc in Oral Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), U.S. He was formally trained in periodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry, in implant dentistry at Loma Linda University (LLU), California, U.S., and in prosthodontics at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. He is currently an associate professor at LLU and academic chair of the gIDE Institute (gidedental.com) in Santa Monica, California, U.S.

Dr. Jovanovic has a multi-specialty practice in Los Angeles, and for over 25 years, he has limited his patient and research work to dental implant therapy, bone and soft-tissue reconstruction, and esthetic dentistry. His clinical research emphasizes surgical and esthetic management in dental implant therapy, and bone and soft-tissue reconstruction techniques. His applied research pioneered guided bone regeneration (GBR) using different bone grafting materials, growth factors and barrier membranes, as well as the biology of soft tissue around teeth and implants.

Dr. Jovanovic teaches implant dentistry extensively worldwide, has published more than 80 articles and book chapters, and is co-author of the textbook Color Atlas of Dental Medicine: Implantology (Thieme Medical Publishers, 1995). He serves on several editorial boards of scientific journals and is director of the gIDE/LLU one-year Master Clinician Program in Implant Dentistry.
