NICE, France: Aiming to “share inspiration, knowledge and confidence ” with dental professionals all over the globe, Dentsply Sirona Implants launched its 2017 World Summit Tour. After hosting major events in Tokyo in Japan in February and San Diego in the US in May, the tour has now made a stop in the French seaport of Nice. On 23 and 24 June, attendees can choose from several implantology-based lectures in the state-of-the-art scientific programme, as well as workshops and product demonstrations.

Dentsply Sirona, formed in 2016 when DENTSPLY International and Sirona Dental Systems merged, is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of professional dental products and technologies, combining leading platforms spanning consumables, equipment and specialty products. With the World Summit Tour, the company brings together current scientific news with the latest clinical and digital developments in implant dentistry. The theme of the World Summit Tour—“Because inspiration and confidence matters”—aims to mirror Dentsply Sirona Implants’ dedication to improved oral health and enhanced quality of life for implant patients worldwide.

Starting yesterday with a pre-congress programme, participants furthered their skills in a number of hands-on courses, guided by experienced and prominent international experts. Topics covered included an update on augmentation techniques and digital implant planning and prosthetic solutions in a single patient visit. In one of the lectures offered, solutions for the edentulous jaw were discussed, focusing on the convergence of prosthetics and surgery.Today, which marks the first official congress day, the topics to be discussed include the digital blueprint and several implant systems.

The lectures on both congress days will be held in English and simultaneously interpreted into French, German, Russian and Turkish.

During the breaks, congress participants are invited to view the poster exhibition, for which dental professionals could submit poster abstracts in the categories of clinical application and research. The winning entries in the competition in both groups will be awarded €1,500 each.

At the inspiration hub, where ideas, knowledge and confidence come alive in implant treatment solutions, the latest products and protocols can be discovered. Furthermore, participants can advance their knowledge and skills through short hands-on sessions.
