ATHENS, Greece: Yesterday, the Implant Solutions World Summit got underway in Athens with over 500 participants from 40 countries. The state-of-the-art congress has brought together world-leading experts in oral implantology, presenting cutting-edge science and the latest innovations in digital dentistry, bone regeneration and implant treatment solutions.
Being held at the Athenaeum InterContinental hotel, located close to the famous Acropolis, the summit kicked off with seven master classes, in which experts shared exclusive insights on implant dentistry. Overall, the programme features 50 speakers from 12 countries lecturing on predictable digital workflows, practice management, edentulous options, implant site preservation, hard- and soft-tissue augmentation and other interesting topics.
In an interview conducted ahead of the summit, programme chair Dr Malene Hallund told Dental Tribune International how valuable in-person events such as the Implant Solutions World Summit are for dental professionals. She said: “Webinars make accessing and sharing knowledge easier; however, they cannot replace in-person events when it comes to the importance of being together in the same academic forum, experiencing the energy and shared passion for education, and meeting face to face with our peers.”
“Dentists often work alone, even within a practice. They come to work, engage with their patients and do not always have a lot of time to interact with their colleagues. Events like the Implant Solutions World Summit are important, as they provide us with a kind of educational innovation—we need to step outside of our own personal and professional bubbles and learn from each other,” Dr Hallund continued.
