SHANGHAI, China: The third edition of the highly anticipated FDI Young Dentists Forum is designed to support and inspire the next generation of dental professionals. Held annually at the FDI World Dental Congress, the forum reflects FDI’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive and technologically driven dental landscape.
Recognising the invaluable contributions of young professionals, the forum provides an opportunity to gain fresh perspectives, enhance engagement and cultivate future leadership potential. This year’s keynote lecture will be delivered by renowned dental professional Dr Miguel Stanley, the founder and clinical director of White Clinic in Portugal. He will share his expertise in practice management, offering young dentists tools and strategies to establish and grow successful clinics.
“I am incredibly excited to join the Young Dentists Forum again this year. It is a wonderful opportunity to engage with the next generation of dental professionals who will shape the future of our field. Sharing insights and experiences with these emerging leaders is an honour and a responsibility I take on with great pride,” Dr Stanley commented.
Furthermore, the forum will feature a presentation by FDI’s young speaker contest winner Dr Luís Anes, who will offer innovative ideas and cutting-edge insights on the topic of digital dentistry. “My two greatest passions are digital dentistry and teaching, so it’s a true honour to present at the FDI Young Dentists Forum,” he said.
“The forum is a unique opportunity for young dentists to explore career development paths, network with peers and engage with industry leaders. This initiative not only fosters professional growth, but also cultivates future leaders in dentistry,” said Dr William Cheung, FDI council member and chair of FDI young dentists community task team.
Alongside these engaging presentations, a panel discussion will explore what it takes to build a strong, collaborative dental workforce. It will also highlight why becoming involved in organised dentistry early in one’s career can make a lasting impact.
“We need a healthy profession for us to be successful in business,” noted David Kochman, senior vice president and chief corporate affairs officer at Henry Schein. “Bringing young dentists in is critical to ensuring that we have healthy associations at the country level to ultimately do big things at the global level. From an industry perspective, it is truly inspiring,” he continued.
By attending the 2025 FDI Young Dentists Forum, attendees will immerse themselves in an environment that celebrates diversity, fosters technological advancements and empowers the next generation of dental leaders. Dental professionals are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to realise their full potential, expand their professional networks and help shape the future of dentistry.
