TOKYO, Japan: Every dental practitioner aims for smooth and efficient procedures that deliver optimal patient experiences and treatment outcomes. Kuraray Noritake Dental supports clinicians in achieving this aim via continuous innovation in its dental materials and device portfolios. One example is CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2, a bonding agent that builds on the success of the popular CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick. It has shown consistent performance in laboratory testing and received two 2026 DENTAL ADVISOR awards.
CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2 offers:
quick application: no waiting time or rubbing required;
strong, durable bonding to enamel and dentine;
a high-strength bond layer with increased resistance to shrinkage forces;
maximum flexibility across a wide range of clinical indications; and
minimised risk of pooling, thanks to enhanced flowability and even spreading.
In vitro evaluation of CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2 demonstrated the product’s strong bonding to both enamel and dentine, even after artificial ageing and under saliva-contaminated conditions. These findings support the adhesive’s consistent performance in the challenging environment of the oral cavity. The evaluation also confirmed a thin film thickness of below 5 μm, which supports precise seating of indirect restorations and a strong, durable bonding interface. These results contributed to the product receiving a DENTAL ADVISOR Research Award, which recognises scientific rigour, outstanding physical properties and innovation in dental materials.

Evaluators highlight smooth and efficient handling
CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2 was also named a DENTAL ADVISOR Preferred Product. The award was based on laboratory data and an extensive clinical evaluation, in which the product received a 98% overall clinical rating. Consultants particularly praised the product’s rapid working time, enabled by a unique formulation combining the original MDP monomer with amide and newly developed UTM monomers.
The ability to apply the adhesive and proceed immediately with restoration resonated strongly with evaluators, who observed: “Extremely quick application time that allowed me to get right to work. Every time-saving ability is ideal.” The product’s low film thickness, easy handling and predictable performance further support the seamless integration of CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2 into everyday clinical workflows for consistent clinical outcomes.
Together, the DENTAL ADVISOR Research Award and the DENTAL ADVISOR Preferred Product Award highlight the scientific excellence underlying CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2 and recognise its real-world clinical value. Its advanced bonding technology, ease of use and dependable performance support efficient workflows while maintaining the clinical reliability expected of restorative procedures.
The Kuraray Noritake Dental Universal Excellence portfolio is designed to simplify restorative workflows through high-quality materials and tools that support clinical expertise. Within this portfolio, CLEARFIL Universal Bond Quick 2 is the recommended bonding agent for several universal resin-based products.
