Patient movement is among the most significant challenges to CBCT image quality. When a patient moves during imaging, it produces artefacts that affect the quality of the image. The new Planmeca CALM imaging algorithm corrects these artefacts by compensating for patient movement. This leads to a sharper final image and helps prevent retakes.

Planmeca CALM is available for all Planmeca CBCT units. The algorithm works with all volume and voxel sizes and adds only under 30 seconds to the overall reconstruction time. The feature can be applied after the scan is complete, but also already before the exposure.

When dentists are able to make artefact corrections themselves, the end result is improved diagnostics, saved time, reduced costs and lower patient doses.
