COPENHAGEN, Denmark: 3Shape, a market-leading provider of digital dentistry and 3D-scanning software, has launched TRIOS Share, a solution that enables dental teams to scan and plan treatment across every PC in a practice through a single TRIOS intra-oral scanner. The program is available to all TRIOS users free of charge and is designed for use with all existing TRIOS wireless intra-oral scanners, including the recently introduced TRIOS 5 Wireless.
With TRIOS Share, a dental professional can walk from room to room with a 3Shape intra-oral scanner in his or her hands because TRIOS connects to the internet via Wi-Fi. Depending on the dental practice’s set-up, the screen of the original TRIOS intra-oral scanning PC can be mirrored to every other PC in the practice using Splashtop*, or if there are multiple PCs dedicated to TRIOS intra-oral scanning, these can be used interchangeably to scan and plan with a TRIOS wireless intra-oral scanner. This means that anyone on the dental team can use any PC in the surgery for intra-oral scanning and case management, thereby allowing a digital patient library to be built up for the dental practice.
“TRIOS Share takes wireless intra-oral scanning to a whole new level,” Rune Fisker, senior vice president for product strategy at 3Shape, said in a press release. “You now cover your entire practice with just one scanner. Anywhere you have internet and a PC, you can use your wireless TRIOS.”
Fisker added: “Other brands may be wireless, but only our award-winning 3Shape TRIOS wireless intra-oral scanners deliver real wireless freedom.”
Editorial note:
* Splashtop is a third-party software solution and requires a separate subscription.
