BIRMINGHAM, UK: Align Technology, a worldwide market leader in clear aligner treatment, took the opportunity at this year’s British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show to showcase some exciting updates to its range of products and services. These enhancements, which concern the Invisalign Go clear aligner system and iTero Element series of intra-oral scanners, are designed to improve practitioners’ digital workflows, allowing for expanded treatment options and streamlined implementation of these.
A trio of experts were on hand at the show to demonstrate the new features first-hand. Zelko Relic, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Research and Development at Align Technology, provided a glimpse of the new user-friendly digital platform for Invisalign Go, which is to be launched in July, and presented some early case studies that used the new system. Relic also showcased the iTero Element 2 and iTero Element Flex intra-oral scanners, additions that build upon the high-precision, full-colour imaging and fast scanning times of the iTero Element portfolio.
Dr Affan Saghir, an experienced user of the Invisalign Go system, then explained how embracing Invisalign Go had impacted his existing patient treatment protocols and helped his practice grow. He provided his first impressions of the new Invisalign Go platform and outlined how the improvements could be used in practice.
Also on hand was Dr Lance Knight, an experienced Invisalign Go trainer, to discuss how general dental practitioners, and not only orthodontists, can use the minimally invasive treatment successfully. Knight familiarised the crowd with the principles behind Invisalign Go and demonstrated how it, along with the digital scanning provided by iTero Element, can be integrated into a practice’s everyday workflow.
Overall, the three speakers presented a compelling case for how Align Technology’s products and services can benefit both specialists and general dental practitioners alike.
