BONN, Germany: The first Dentsply Sirona World (DS World) Germany took place last week in Bonn under the theme “Experience the future of connected dentistry”. Combining high-level education with networking opportunities and industry insights, the event attracted over 1,000 clinicians and dental technicians and highlighted the growing role of digital technologies, cloud-based collaboration and artificial intelligence-supported tools in shaping contemporary dental workflows.

Daniel Scavilla, president and CEO of Dentsply Sirona.

The event marked the début of the globally established DS World format in Germany. Known from other international editions in cities such as Las Vegas in the US, Dubai in the UAE and Birmingham in the UK, the meeting focuses on clinical education, innovation and collaboration within the dental community.

The programme showcased integrated treatment approaches and digital solutions designed to improve efficiency and patient outcomes in dental practices and laboratories. More than 40 expert speakers contributed to the scientific programme, which featured lectures and hands-on courses. They covered a wide range of disciplines and topics—including implantology, endodontics, digital diagnostics, aligner therapy and digital workflows.

In addition to the educational sessions, the event featured an exhibition area where participants could explore product solutions and new technologies for dental practices. Among the technologies showcased were the recently launched milling solutions for Dentsply Sirona’s cloud-based DS Core platform: CEREC Primemill Lite and CEREC Go. Using CEREC solutions on DS Core, dental professionals can design restorations in the cloud using artificial intelligence-generated designs for crowns, inlays and onlays.

Dentsply Sirona also demonstrated the Atlantis Abutment Milling Service, an expansion to its portfolio of digital solutions for dental laboratories. Newly available on DS Core, the service is intended to increase flexibility in the design and production of implant abutments. In addition, the company presented RECIPROC Minima, a new file system featuring reciprocating motion that enables clinicians to prepare narrow root canals and challenging canal anatomies using a single instrument.

Speaking at the on-site press conference, Daniel Scavilla, Dentsply Sirona’s president and CEO, emphasised the importance of the company’s engagement with German-speaking dental professionals. He commented: “It is the first time that we’re here hosting DS World in Germany, a region that is vital to the dental industry and to us as a company.” Scavilla also highlighted the strategic importance of the DS Core cloud platform, noting that moving CEREC on to DS Core represented a key milestone in 2025. This year, he said, the company is focusing on accelerating investment and innovation.

Networking throughout the event encouraged professional exchange among dentists, dental technicians and industry representatives and reflected the meeting’s broader purpose. By bringing the DS World format to Germany for the first time, Dentsply Sirona sought to strengthen knowledge sharing and encourage the adoption of digital and connected workflows across the dental profession.
