LEIPZIG, Germany: Media executive Jürgen Isbaner died during the night of 4 March. His death marks the loss of a prominent figure in Germany’s professional dental media landscape and a long-standing colleague of Dental Tribune International (DTI) and OEMUS MEDIA, DTI’s partner in German-speaking markets.

Isbaner served as editor-in-chief of ZWP Zahnarzt Wirtschaft Praxis, a leading German-language trade journal covering dental practice management and the business of dentistry, and was a long-time member of the management board of Leipzig-based OEMUS MEDIA. In these roles, Isbaner helped shape professional discourse and industry communication within the German dental sector for many years.

Isbaner began working with OEMUS MEDIA in the mid-1990s and, in 1995, became managing director of MediCOLLEG, an education organisation of OEMUS MEDIA. From 1999 to 2020, he served as a member of the board of OEMUS MEDIA. He subsequently held the position of chairman of the board for science and business development until his retirement in 2024. In these positions, he oversaw numerous specialist publications and was responsible for the conceptual and organisational development of many dental congresses as well as the company’s magazine portfolio.

Beyond his publishing work, Isbaner was a well-known figure in the dental media community. He worked closely with professional societies, speakers and industry partners and helped bring developments in science, clinical practice and the dental industry to a broad professional audience.

OEMUS MEDIA  and DTI have maintained a close collaboration in the German-speaking market for many years. This partnership was made possible by the long-standing professional and personal relationship between Isbaner and DTI CEO Torsten Oemus, who together helped shape the development of both companies over several decades.
