IDS 2017: Already more than 1,400 exhibitors registered

COLOGNE, Germany: Organiser of the International Dental Show (IDS) Koelnmesse has announced high registration figures for exhibitors after the official application deadline. By the end of March, over 1,400 companies from 50 countries had already confirmed their participation. Koelnmesse expects that the upcoming IDS, for which the entire dental world will be convening from 21 to 25 March 2017, will again achieve a new record participation.

Every two years, IDS is held in Cologne. It is the most important event for the international dental market, showcasing the latest developments in dentistry. The exhibition floor, spanning a total of 157,000 m2, has sold very well so far, the organisers stated. Overall, over 2,200 companies from around the world will be exhibiting at the 2017 IDS, including international market leaders.

Many companies from foreign countries, including Argentina, Brazil, China, Israel, Korea, Russia, Taiwan, and the UK are expected to attend. The most strongly represented countries among the exhibitors are Italy, the US, Switzerland, China, France, the Republic of Korea, and the UK.

For the first time ever, the application deadline for IDS was pulled forward to 31 March in order to accommodate the challenges of the market more efficiently and to enable the participating companies to plan their participation in due time.

In a joint statement, the Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Dental-Industrie, the society for the promotion of the dental industry that is affiliated with the Association of German Dental Manufacturers, and Koelnmesse announced: “The success story of IDS as the leading business and communications platform of the international dental industry continues. All the signs give us reason to believe that we will once again record growth in the number of exhibitors and visitors.”

In collaboration with German publisher OEMUS MEDIA, Dental Tribune International (DTI) will be publishing a new edition of the today daily newspaper during IDS. In addition to the print edition, DTI will be providing the latest news from the event online to subscribers worldwide through various e-newsletters on a daily basis.
