SINGAPORE: ACTIVA BioACTIVE-RESTORATIVE, developed by American dental research company and manufacturer Pulpdent, has received the Top Product Award from THE DENTAL ADVISOR for the third year running in 2018. The tooth-coloured, bioactive dental composite continues to impress dentist evaluators and will be Pulpdent’s featured product at IDEM Singapore.
ACTIVA BioACTIVE-RESTORATIVE is an aesthetic, bioactive composite that imitates the physical and chemical properties of teeth. It contains no bisphenol A, bis-GMA or derivatives. It responds to pH changes in the oral environment by releasing and recharging calcium, phosphate and fluoride. This chemistry supports the natural remineralisation process and helps form a seal between the material and the tooth. Unlike conventional composites, which are generally hydrophobic and brittle, ACTIVA BioACTIVE-RESTORATIVE contains a shock-absorbing rubberised resin that resists chipping and wear. Dentist evaluators found that “the aesthetics were excellent at two years”.
In 2017, THE DENTAL ADVISOR gave ACTIVA BioACTIVE-RESTORATIVE a five plus and a 98 per cent clinical performance rating after the second year of a long-term clinical evaluation of 194 anterior and posterior restorations. Dentist evaluators used the material for a variety of applications, including one- to four-surface restorations and core build-ups.
Pulpdent Media and Communications Manager Leah Berk said, “We are honoured to receive THE DENTAL ADVISOR Top Product Award for the third year running. ACTIVA BioACTIVE is the first aesthetic bioactive material and is changing the way people think about restoratives. Rather than simply filling an empty space, we now have a material that interacts with the tooth and helps form a seal against microleakage.”
Throughout IDEM, Larry Clark, Director of Clinical Affairs and Marketing at Pulpdent, and dentist Dr. Rumpa Wig from Bhopal in India will be present at Pulpdent’s booth to offer hands-on demonstrations of ACTIVA BioACTIVE-RESTORATIVE. The team at Pulpdent is cordially inviting all congress attendees to visit Booth 4F-12 in the US Pavilion to experience the award-winning material for themselves.
