BIBERACH AN DER RISS, Germany: KaVo and MELAG have recently announced that they will be forming a partnership that is intended to drive the future of instrument reprocessing. The partnership will provide coordinated product and service offerings to make daily work in the dental practice safer, more reliable and more effective. Both companies will now focus on joint training for specialised trade partners as well as coordinated marketing and sales campaigns, among other things. Joint global events for end customers and stronger mutual support in the area of research and development are also planned.
Under the slogan “Dental excellence”, KaVo has been offering dental expertise and an almost complete premium product portfolio for dental practices and dental laboratories for over 100 years. Boasting a large number of patents and utility models, the company is the world’s leading supplier in the dental instrument segment.
MELAG is an owner-managed family business that has established itself as the world market leader in offering quality and innovative strength in dental hygiene. Since the foundation of the company over 70 years ago, MELAG has been developing and producing innovative and technologically robust solutions for instrument reprocessing, exclusively in Berlin in Germany. With its outstanding system solutions, including autoclaves, washer disinfectors and sealing devices, MELAG has been able to continuously develop and significantly shape instrument reprocessing.
Given the company’s wealth of experience, KaVo explicitly recommends products from MELAG for the reprocessing of its premium instruments. “The high standards of our own products and the values of an innovative, traditional company make MELAG the perfect partner for KaVo in dental instrument reprocessing. As a reliable four-in-one solution, the Careclave from MELAG harmonises perfectly with our high-quality KaVo instruments and is therefore also our clear recommendation for reprocessing our KaVo instruments,” said Armin Imhof, chief technical officer at KaVo.
Dr Niklas Gebauer, the managing partner of MELAG, added: “KaVo straight and contra-angle handpieces have always been the benchmark for us, not only in terms of quality but also because of their above-average durability. Therefore, we have also tested intensively with KaVo instruments during the development of the Careclave.”
This cooperation will be visible to the general public at the International Dental Show 2023 in Cologne in Germany, which opens its doors on 14 March. Here, the MELAG Careclave will not only be featured on the MELAG stand but also on the KaVo stand, and the MELAG stand will be equipped with high-quality KaVo instruments.
