“As our profession continues to progress through developments in science and technology, the need to stay informed and adaptable has never been greater,” stated FDI President Dr Nikolai Sharkov. He said the congress would provide an important platform for exploring advances in AI, dental materials and clinical techniques to help dental professionals maintain high standards of care.

Czech Dental Chamber President Dr Roman Šmucler said the profession must consider who will guide dental teams through this period of change and how to ensure that technology serves patients. “This is why coming together is important: not only to gain knowledge from the scientific programme but also to exchange experiences,” he said, adding that discussions should help shape safe, ethical, accessible and future-oriented dentistry.

According to FDI, the programme is designed to connect emerging science with the decisions practitioners face in everyday clinical settings. Individual lectures and symposia will cover a myriad of topics, including molar incisor hypomineralisation, vital pulp therapy, contemporary endodontics and approaches to retaining natural teeth.

Professional well-being and the changing business of dentistry will also feature. The FDI Young Dentists Forum will examine work–life balance, resilience and career sustainability, and industry symposia will address practice ownership, business models, digital teaching and efficient practice management.

“Alongside the scientific sessions, attendees can also look forward to a dynamic industry exhibition featuring leading dental companies and brands from around the world,” Dr Sharkov said. “More than a showcase, this exhibition will provide a valuable opportunity to discover new technologies, practical solutions and other innovations that are shaping contemporary dental practice.”

The scientific programme will be delivered in English. However, AI-powered real-time translation will be available in designated rooms through an app. The service will be available in 16 languages.

Beyond the lecture halls, delegates will find much to see and do in Prague. The city’s compact historic centre, distinctive cityscape, and rich architectural and cultural heritage will provide an appealing setting for informal meetings and exploration between sessions. Its extensive public transport network makes it easy to travel around the city and beyond.

“We have prepared a congress that aims to be scientifically rigorous, internationally inclusive and personally memorable,” Dr Šmucler said. “Prague, too, awaits us—a city that will bring atmosphere, elegance and energy to this great gathering of the international dental community.”
