VIENNA, Austria: At EuroPerio11, which is currently being held in Vienna in Austria, GC will present a dedicated symposium focusing on the clinical potential of Cytrans Granules, a synthetic bone graft material designed to support safe, effective and predictable outcomes in regenerative therapy. The session, titled “Cytrans Granules: An alloplast for your armamentarium,” will provide an in-depth look at this engineered carbonate apatite material and its role in modern periodontal and bone regeneration.

Bone grafting materials have long played a crucial role in the treatment of bone loss and the reconstruction of the periodontium or alveolar bone. While autogenous grafts have traditionally been viewed as the gold standard, they present limitations, including donor site morbidity and restricted availability. This has led to ongoing efforts within the dental community to identify alternative materials that combine efficacy, safety and ease of use.

Cytrans Granules, composed of carbonate apatite—the same inorganic component found in human bone—has emerged as a promising synthetic option. “Cytrans Granules is the most promising engineered bone graft material I’ve tested to date. It opens new horizons in the field of periodontal and bone regeneration,” said Prof. Anton Sculean, chair of EuroPerio11.

Prof. Sculean will moderate the session alongside Dr Paul S. Rosen, who maintains private practices in Yardley, Pennsylvania, and New York City, specialising in periodontics, surgical implant placement and regenerative therapy. Dr Rosen is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.

The session will examine the scientific basis and key clinical features of Cytrans Granules, offering insights into how this innovative alloplast may support regenerative therapies. It will take place tomorrow from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in room Stolz 2.

Attendees of EuroPerio11 can learn more about Cytrans Granules at Booth K07 in Hall B. More information can be found at www.gc.dental/europe.
