SHANGHAI, China: As the dental industry moves away from amalgam, GC is presenting its latest restorative solutions at the 2025 FDI World Dental Congress (FDIWDC25) this week. The company is highlighting how EQUIA Forte HT and everX Flow enable dental professionals to transition to modern materials without compromising durability, efficiency or aesthetics.

GC has a long-standing history with FDIWDC. “We have been participating in the congress for nearly 70 years, starting with the Rome event in 1957,” Frank Rosenbaum, chief marketing officer of GC International, said. “Now, 104 years after our founding, we remain committed to our Vision 2031—to become the leading dental company committed to realising a healthy and long-living society. One of our key missions worldwide is to provide innovative solutions tailored to individual needs, and the FDI congress offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with the global dental community.”

EQUIA Forte HT: Glass-hybrid restorative system

Central to GC’s presentation is EQUIA Forte HT, a restorative system based on advanced glass-hybrid technology. It combines EQUIA Forte HT Fil, a bulk-fill restorative base, with EQUIA Forte Coat, a nano-filled resin surface coating. This pairing offers a versatile and cost-effective alternative to amalgam for specific indications, particularly where isolation is challenging.

“The FDI congress offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with the global dental community.”

Thanks to its unique chemical adhesion, the system eliminates the need for bonding agents, and its moisture tolerance makes it suitable for a broad patient base, including those with high caries risk, as well as paediatric, geriatric and special care cases. EQUIA Forte HT supports a minimally invasive approach by preserving healthy tooth structure and delivering natural, aesthetic results. Its quick bulk-placement capability streamlines procedures and reduces chair time, while its strength and wear resistance support long-term success, even in load-bearing restorations.

EverX Flow: Reinforced for added strength

For cases requiring additional reinforcement, GC is also showcasing everX Flow, a fibre-reinforced composite designed to replace dentine in large or compromised cavities. Short fibres create a crack-stopping effect that strengthens the restoration and reduces fracture risk. Owing to its flowable consistency, supporting optimal adaptation, and its suitability for bulk layering of up to 5.5 mm, everX Flow simplifies the restorative process, saving valuable time without sacrificing strength. When layered with a conventional composite, such as G-ænial Universal Injectable for the enamel layer, it provides a durable and aesthetic outcome.

At FDIWDC25: Explore and engage

GC’s participation at the congress underscores its commitment to providing restorative solutions that address both clinical demands and global health priorities, ensuring dentists are equipped to meet the evolving needs of their patients.

“As amalgam use declines globally, EQUIA Forte HT stands out as a cost-effective, long-term restorative alternative. Its glass hybrid technology combines strong mechanical properties with ion exchange to support tooth remineralisation. With reduced plastic content, EQUIA capsules support eco-friendly dentistry. Together with everX Flow, they offer strong, mercury-free solutions for a simplified and sustainable restorative approach.”

Visitors to FDIWDC25 are invited to find out more information about GC products at Booth N21 in Hall 6.2. “We encourage clinicians to visit our booth to experience how GC’s solutions can enhance everyday clinical practice,” Rosenbaum added. “Our team is on hand to demonstrate the practical benefits, discuss case applications and inspire dental professionals worldwide to confidently transition to amalgam-free dentistry.”
