CUXHAVEN, Germany: In order to fulfil the high expectations of patients, definitive dental prostheses need to be robust and durable, as well as provide natural aesthetics. Milled CAD/CAM materials that are very similar to natural teeth in terms of both their appearance and their physical properties are at a significant advantage in this respect. VOCO has developed an innovative nano-ceramic hybrid material that represents the ideal alternative to conventional ceramics: Grandio disc multicolor.
The product combines maximum aesthetics with tooth-like properties in terms of its strength and elasticity, creating new potential for definitive restorations.
In addition to the 15 mm Grandio disc multicolor, VOCO has introduced a new Grandio disc multicolor of 12 mm in thickness to its portfolio, giving practices and laboratories a flexible solution for the fabrication of high-quality definitive restorations—for results that impress with their longevity and natural appearance. The reduction in material for the 12 mm disc allows more cost-efficient work. The layer sizes for the new 12 mm version have been optimised, making the colour gradient of Grandio disc multicolor particularly suitable for small restorations in the premolar and molar areas.
The Grandio disc multicolor is available in both 12 mm and 15 mm thicknesses.
Invisible layer technology
Grandio disc multicolor imitates the colour gradient of natural teeth from the incisal edge to the cervical neck. The special composition of the material reflects and absorbs light to create a particularly intense chameleon effect, allowing seamless transition between the individual layers of the restoration and producing a highly aesthetic colour gradient. This optimises visual adaptation to the natural dentition, enhancing the overall aesthetic outcome.
The diameter of both thicknesses of Grandio disc multicolor is 98 mm. Both the 15 mm and new 12 mm Grandio disc multicolor are available in six shades: A1, A2, A3, A3.5, B1 and C2. The specified shade is that of the middle layer, the dentine shade of the tooth. Both versions are processed in the same way in the milling machine.
In addition to the multicoloured variants, Grandio disc is available in a monochromatic version in two translucency levels. The low-translucency disc is particularly suitable for restorations in the anterior region and the high-translucency disc for restorations in the posterior region.
