ADX Sydney has new manager

Thu. 4. May 2017

SYDNEY, Australia: In a move that is set to benefit Australia’s various dental events, Linda Gaunt, former CEO of Meetings & Events Australia, has been appointed as the Exhibitions Strategy Manager of the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA). Gaunt will first be tasked with making the upcoming ADX18 Sydney, Australia’s largest dental exhibition, an event that captures the interest of the entire dental community.

ADX Sydney is convened by ADIA, the primary organisation for representing the country’s dental product manufacturers and suppliers. ADIA recently unveiled its 2016–20 strategic plan, which focuses on increasing demand for dental products and services. This is aimed at benefitting the oral health of Australian consumers and is a key reason for the hiring of Gaunt, according to ADIA CEO Troy Williams.

“This appointment stems from the direction set out in the 2016–20 ADIA Strategic Plan which commits us to strengthening not only ADX Sydney but also the regional shows we manage,” Williams said.

“The task of developing a strategy to achieve this falls to Ms Gaunt who was the stand-out candidate from a strong field to undertake this work.”

In addition to ADX Sydney, Gaunt will be responsible for regional trade shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Jan Van Dyk, Exhibition Operations Manager for ADIA, will support Gaunt in her new role.

“It’s an exciting opportunity to take a great exhibition like ADX Sydney and ensure that it is recognised nation-wide as the must-attend event for the entire dental community,” Gaunt said.

“The changes that we’re planning are sure to attract interest from dentists and allied oral healthcare professionals who haven’t yet attended ADX Sydney,” she added.

ADX Sydney is a biennial exhibition that takes place in the International Convention Centre Sydney. The 2018 event is scheduled for 23–25 March and is expected to draw more than 6,000 visitors interested in the over 140 domestic and international dental companies that will be showcasing their products and services.
