SYDNEY, Australia: The Australian Dental Association (ADA) has announced that the FDI World Dental Congress will be held in Australia in September 2021. The annual event is to take place at the International Convention Centre in Sydney’s picturesque Darling Harbour.

By offering a variety of lectures, seminars, workshops, hands-on sessions, and exhibitions, among other things, this event brings together dental organisations and professionals from all around the world. The 2017 FDI World Dental Congress took place in Madrid in Spain from 29 August to 1 September, and next year’s edition will be hosted in Buenos Aires in Argentina from 5 to 8 September.

It will be the third time that Sydney will play host to the congress, and the first time since 2003. Dr Hugo Sachs, President of the ADA, expressed the organisation’s pleasure at the successful bid: “The staging of the FDI World Dental Congress in Sydney will be an exciting opportunity for the country’s dental professionals to be exposed further to the exciting, always growing, world of international dentistry.”

“It is proof that Australia occupies an enviable place at the forefront of world dentistry and that this has, once again, been recognised by leading figures in the world of dentistry,” added Sachs. “To have the world’s premier dental congress on our front door is an amazing achievement and I offer my congratulations to everyone involved.”
