VENICE, Italy: From 16 to 19 February, the European Aligner Society (EAS) is holding its international congress in Venice, at the Hilton Molino Stucky hotel. The event, presented every other year, will see a number of global speakers and is planned to provide the most complete scientific and clinical education to orthodontists working with aligner therapy.

“It is with great excitement that we draw near to our second international EAS Congress, to be held in the romantic city of Venice. After the success of the first EAS Congress in Vienna in 2016, the second congress promises to be an even bigger event,” outgoing President Dr Graham Gardner said about the meeting. “The plenary sessions will now extend over the full Saturday and Sunday, together with pre-congress courses on the Friday, allowing delegates to interact more closely with some of the world leaders in cutting-edge technologies related to aligner therapy, to whet their appetite for the main event on the weekend.”

The association will be hosting prominent speakers in all aspects of aligner therapy and digital orthodontics giving TED Talks-style presentations using state-of-the-art audiovisual technology to enhance the attendees’ experience. The plenary session will be simultaneously interpreted into Italian, Spanish, Japanese, German and French.

A post-congress course on 19 February will feature Dr Christian Coachman lecturing on his digital smile design and aligners.

“If you are involved in aligner therapy, or any aspect of digital orthodontics, then the EAS Congress is a must for you,” Gardner concluded.

The congress will be held at the Hilton Molino Stucky in Venice, a hotel with 379 rooms and suites located just 30 minutes from the airport. With the largest congress centre and the second largest spa in Venice, the hotel offers space for up to 1,000 delegates.

As the official media partner, Dental Tribune International will be participating in the event and reporting on the latest developments in aligner technology.

Open registration for the event closes on 3 February, however, onsite registration will open on the EAS website on 7 February. This pre-onsite registration plan is designed to reduce the waiting at the registration desk on Congress day while on-site registrations are processed.
