MADRID, Spain: Intended to be a key meeting point for dental professionals and companies dealing in dental equipment and products, EXPODENTAL will be held from 15 to 17 March 2018 at Feria de Madrid (IFEMA). Under the theme of “Innovation, technology and digital future”, the conference will feature a range of presentations on the latest technologies, solutions and treatments, offer continuing professional development and provide an opportunity for dental health professionals in training with its students’ day.
On June, more than 100 leading companies in the dental industry were welcomed at Feria de Madrid to attend a presentation on EXPODENTAL 2018. The aim was to highlight EXPODENTAL’S goal of bringing together a complete offering of products and technological innovations, including orthodontic products, prostheses, equipment, instruments, consumables and IT services.
With exhibition spaces being allocated on 27, 28 and 29 September, secretary general of the Spanish dental industries federation (Federación Española de Empresas de Tecnología Sanitaria, FENIN) Margarita Alfonsel, Dental Industry President of FENIN Juan Molina, Director of EXPODENTAL María José Sánchez and chairperson of the EXPODENTAL organising committee Luis Garralda all spoke at the event. They discussed the features and programme the organisers have planned for the event, as well as the most significant market data from the last financial year.
In response to the growing advancements in technology and products related to oral health—which makes continuing professional development essential—EXPODENTAL will provide an educational programme. As with last year’s conference, attendees will be able to obtain information from experts at universities, training centres, scientific societies, professional associations and companies on educational offerings at graduate level and postgraduate level, clinic management and other relevant areas. For students’ day on 15 March, fourth- and fifth-year dentistry students will be able to attend the fair, along with dental hygienists and technicians in training.
In a new feature for 2018, dental professionals from the Canary Islands will be hosted as a guest community as part of an initiative aimed at making it easier for people from the islands to visit the fair. In addition, specific campaigns aimed at encouraging attendance by dental professionals from Catalonia and Portugal and a trade mission with the UK are also being run.
The organisers are hoping to better the turnout from the 2016 event, which was attended by 30,364 visitors.
