COLOGNE, Germany: Ahead of the 40th IDS, Dental Tribune International (DTI) held its Annual Publishers’ Meeting on 11 March. Publishers from 13 different countries gathered in Cologne to discuss the current state of the network and a number of new projects for the upcoming year, as well as strategic approaches for the future.
At the meeting, DTI CEO Torsten Oemus addressed the challenges that dentistry has faced over the past years, owing to the affects of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also said that, as the dental business recovers, the main trends in the industry are clearly digitalisation, specialisation and consolidation. DTI had already adapted its portfolio by extending its focus on digital media products and digital learning opportunities for dentists even before the pandemic hit. In 2022, DTI continued to respond to these trends by adding new publications and websites focusing on 3D printing in dentistry and clear aligner treatment to its premium print portfolio, and by strengthening its regional operations. “In times of multiple crises, the common goal of all partners is to build a sustainable portfolio,” Oemus emphasised.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for an announcement about DTI’s expansion into new markets, including Vietnam and Portugal. “We look forward to expanding our international presence and covering every corner of the world in the future,” said Dr Björn Kempe, founder and CEO of Expos Asia and consultant for DTI.
