Dr John Hagiliassis

Dr John Hagiliassis graduated from the University of Melbourne in Australia with a bachelor of dentistry in 1998. His passion for cosmetic dentistry led him to complete a graduate diploma in aesthetic orthodontics at the postgraduate school of dentistry of the University of Melbourne in 2017. He founded a South Melbourne-based dental clinic in 2002. To date, he has treated over 7,000 aligner cases using several systems. Passionate about technology, Dr Hagiliassis is always looking for ways to incorporate it into his practice to improve accuracy and efficiency.

He founded the Australasian Clear Aligner Society in 2018 and AORTA (Aesthetic Orthodontic and Restorative Training Academy) in 2017. He is the creator of Smile Geni, an AI platform for smile transformation. Dr Hagiliassis is a key opinion leader for several companies in the dental industry and a mentor at his alma mater.

He is the author of the AORTA Clinical Handbook and has published articles worldwide on aesthetic orthodontics and restorative dentistry. He founded Clear Idea, a biannual magazine on aligners in Australia, and sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Aligner Orthodontics.
