ZURICH, Switzerland: As dentistry evolves in both breadth and width, the need for oral hygiene processes to evolve at a similar speed has become crucial. In an upcoming free webinar on Tuesday, 10 April, host Dr James Kouzoukian will be focusing on specific changes that he believes must be made to oral hygiene protocols used in dental practices in order to be in compliance with the new standard of care in dentistry.
How do patients maintain a healthy dentition and protect their investment in dental prostheses? According to Kouzoukian, current research indicates that old standards of care are no longer considered effective to maintain a positive post-surgical result in periodontal treatment, effectively treat non-surgical periodontal cases and ensure implants are protected against peri-implantitis. In the webinar, which he believes will be of interest to both dentists and dental hygienists, Kouzoukian will be focusing on some of the new standards and their dento-legal considerations.
Kouzoukian graduated from the New York University College of Dentistry in the US in 1984. He has extensive experience as an expert witness in dento-legal matters, having worked with attorneys in a variety of cases since 1987. Kouzoukian has presented a number of lectures on temporomandibular joint dysfunction, digital imaging and oral hygiene, as well as a live-broadcast webinar on digital imaging and standard of care issues.
The 1-hour webinar, titled “The new standard of care in oral hygiene”, will be broadcast live on Tuesday, 10 April, at 7 p.m. CEST. Attendance is free of charge after easy registration on the website. Participants will be able to ask questions via a chat window and have the opportunity to earn a continuing education credit by completing a multiple-choice questionnaire on the topic.
