CHARLOTTE, N.C., US: Digital technologies, new treatment approaches and integrated workflows are opening up new possibilities in endodontic treatment. At Dentsply Sirona’s Endo Forum 2026, held in Alcalá de Henares in Spain, more than 80 international experts in endodontics came together to discuss how this progress can be sustained and to identify the trends and clinical needs that will shape the future of endodontics.
During Endo Forum 2026, participants had numerous opportunities to test recently launched products and prototypes—including during breaks.
Innovations in endodontics emerge from the interaction of science, clinical experience and technological development. For Dentsply Sirona, maintaining a close dialogue with clinicians is therefore essential because they apply new treatment approaches in everyday practice and understand their benefits and limitations. Endo Forum 2026 provided an opportunity to continue this dialogue between external experts and Dentsply Sirona teams working in product development, clinical education and marketing.
The programme featured interactive sessions in which participants discussed developments influencing clinical practice from different perspectives. Topics included digital workflows, new endodontic capabilities within Dentsply Sirona’s cloud-based platform DS Core, locating root canal orifices, next-generation motors, current shaping and obturation techniques, and new approaches to coronal restoration. These exchanges help inform future innovations and educational initiatives, supporting the development of products and training that are closely aligned with everyday clinical practice.
“The requirements in endodontics vary from market to market, but many clinical challenges remain the same,” said Prof. Ove Peters, deputy head of the School of Dentistry at the University of Queensland in Brisbane in Australia. “Exchanging ideas with colleagues from different countries allows us to compare experiences and evaluate new developments from various perspectives. This often leads to ideas that are relevant far beyond individual markets. That’s what makes events like Endo Forum so valuable to us as dentists.”

Several new products presented at Endo Forum also demonstrated how recent developments could be implemented in clinical practice across the endodontic workflow. These included the new RECIPROC Minima file system for narrow and challenging root canal anatomies, the X-Smart Go cordless endodontic motor, the WaveOne Gold orifice shaper, and the new ProRoot Bio Sealer and next generation of AH Plus sealers, which address different obturation requirements. Together, the products address different aspects of root canal treatment.
For decades, Dentsply Sirona has worked with the endodontic community to support the preservation of natural teeth. Scientific evidence, quality standards and ongoing dialogue with clinicians have informed the development of its endodontic products and treatment solutions. This collaboration has also contributed to developments in endodontic practice and education. More information about Dentsply Sirona’s endodontic products is available on the specialty page.
